By Molly Folse

BIRMINGHAM (BHAMWEEKLY) -"Yep, you heard that right. Homewood will host its very own Fashion Week with special discounts, trunk shows and designer visits March 29-April 5. It all kicks off March 29 with the "High Fashion and Helping Hands" fashion show on the curve in downtown Homewood, complete with a catwalk and 300 chairs topped with goodie bags for attendees. Models will wear spring styles for women, men, adolescents and children, as well as accessories, formal and maternity wear from merchants such as a.k.a. Girl Stuff, Collage Designer Consignment, Doree, Ginny's of Homewood, Happi, Pickles and Ice Cream, Sassafrass, Shoefly, Shoezy Q, Short and Sweet, Soca and Red Wagon; even canine couture from Generation Dog will be on display. The show is a fundraiser for Operation School Bell, a community service project of the Assistance League of Birmingham that provides new clothing and hygiene kits to area children in need. While the show is free to the public, Shop for a Cause cards, which give cardholders a 20 percent discount at participating Homewood merchants, as well as VIP treatment at the show, will be on sale and donations will also be accepted."
